On October 16, World Food Day, I4NATURE organizes the Youth World Food Day in the Smaakpark at the WFC in Ede. This is a sequel to the successful one Youth Summit held on World Food Day last year took place.
During Youth World Food Day, young people and opinion leaders talk together about solutions to food wastage as one of the global food challenges.
This year's event is organized in collaboration with the municipality of Ede, the World Food Center, Wageningen Youth Institute, Food First coalition and Food & Business Knowledge Platform.
Ede has been working with its food policy for years on healthy food for everyone. In addition, Ede constantly seeks and encourages improvements in the food system and is aware of the position and ideas of young people on this issue.
The morning program is decided for a group of 30 young people who participate in the Excellence program.
The broad festival program starts at 12:00 and is divided into two subjects: FoodFirst Foodlosses and Food wastage nearby.
The working language of the FoodFirst Foodlosses program is English, the rest of the program is in Dutch.
A video connection is also being held with the Youth Council for Rome-based agencies (IFAD, WFP, FAO) and the Committee on World Food Security in Rome.
The day ends with the presentation of the prize for the winner of the Zero Waste Challenge
